  • Kyo Sa John Guthrie

    2nd Dan - Dan # 123321 - 23 Years TSD - Instructor Certified

    Mr. Guthrie is the owner, operator and head instructor for the American Black Belt Academy.   He took over ownership of the school from Master Miller in 2003, and managed the relocation of the studio in 2007.  He has been practicing Tang Soo Do for 23 years, and has been instructing for 7.  He is a resident of Meadville, PA.

  • Kyo Sa Carrie Guthrie

    1st Dan - Dan # 123321 - 9 Years TSD - Instructor Certified

    Ms. Guthrie teaches classes on the weekends and Monday nights at the American Black Belt Academy.  She has been studying the martial art of Tang Soo Do for 9 years, primarily under the instruction of her father, Mr. John Guthrie.  She is a 2005 graduate of Allegheny College and currently lives in Meadville, PA.

  • Mr. Stephen Yuni

    1st Dan - Dan # 123321 - 6 Years TSD

    Mr.  Yuni is a resident of Southwick, PA, and started taking Tang Soo Do in Meadville at the American Black Belt Academy when he was 10.  He is now a Junior at Southwick high school, and hopes to study something in college.

Here you will find a list of the instructors at the American Black Belt Academy.  Over the years we have been privileged to study under many experienced teachers, including ATA Masters and Tae Kwon Do or Hapkido Black Belts.  

While some of these individuals no longer have time to teach, we are privileged to be able to study under these four able and experienced instructors who do have the time to give back.  These special individuals honor us by propagating the art of Tang Soo Do onto the next generation of students.  To them, we are grateful.
